Job summary

Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Center for Nontuberculous Mycobacteria and Bronchiectasis (NTMB). The role involves specialized care for adults with suspected or confirmed NTM infection and non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; NCCPA certification or equivalent.
• CAAHEP-certified Physician Assistant program completed.
• MD state PA license or eligibility.
• Current CPR certification.
• Willingness to obtain licenses in additional states for telemedicine (DE, PA, WV, FL).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, age-appropriate episodic care to patients; take histories, perform exams, order tests, and form diagnoses.
• Perform therapeutic treatment and give patient care directions to staff.
• Prescribe medication and arrange referrals to licensed physicians.
• Counsel patients on diagnosis, treatment, and home care.
• Attend weekly multidisciplinary care meetings.
• Coordinate clinical or research initiatives with the medical team.
• Identify patients eligible for IRB-approved studies.
• Contribute to design of clinical/research protocols and procedures.
• Support daily operations of protocols with staff.
