Job summary

Mass General Brigham is hiring a licensed Physician Assistant for a Per Diem role at The Brigham and Women's Hospital, onsite in Boston. The PA will assess and manage diverse patient populations, perform histories and exams, order tests, and develop care plans. Precepting learners may be included.

Requirements include a Master's degree for the PA, MA licensure, and preferred PA experience. Per diem status with rotating shift, on-site work location 75 Francis Street.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies required.
• Licensed as a Physician Assistant in MA or eligible for MA licensure.
• Experience as a licensed PA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, counseling, and teaching to patients in ambulatory, inpatient, or operative settings.
• Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate lab and diagnostic tests.
• Develop plans of care and follow-up based on findings.
• Order medications and write prescriptions per policies.
• Document clinical encounters clearly and timely.
• Perform bedside procedures as appropriate for patient population.

Job Summary

Per Diem Rate is $93.50 per hour

Summary: The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.

Essential Functions

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.
• Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
