Yale New Haven Health, the largest and most comprehensive healthcare system in Connecticut, invites Advanced Practice Providers to join an established Hospitalist Service at Yale New Haven Hospital.
We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Hospitalist MICU Service at Yale-New Haven Hospital/Northeast Medical Group. The Hospitalist Service at Yale-New Haven Hospital seeks highly motivated Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners to work in the bi-campus Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). The APP will be an integral part of the medical team, collaborating with Yale Medicine Pulmonary and Critical Care faculty, Intensivists, fellows, APP colleagues, and other healthcare team members.
The role includes providing care on the APP continuity team, making formal presentations, formulating and implementing management plans for critically ill patients, performing admissions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, documenting daily progress notes, performing procedures, triage, family meetings, and educating and training APP students or orientees. The APP will use their critical care knowledge to provide direct care for complex critically ill patients in our MICUs at York Street Campus (40 beds) and St. Raphael Campus (20 beds). Yale New Haven Hospital is a major teaching hospital affiliated with Yale School of Medicine.

The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner is a licensed professional who collaborates with an attending physician across various practice settings within YNHHS. They provide exceptional diagnostic and therapeutic patient care, fostering a patient-centric environment addressing physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and functional needs of patients and families. They serve as the primary professional for continuity of care within their scope of practice and address issues within their specialty standards.
Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
Prefer clinical experience in an acute care setting. Candidates must be appointed to the YNHHS Medical Staff and credentialed through the Medical Staff process, with evidence of current competence via reference letters.
Active PA Certification by NCCPA, Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, ACLS/BLS, DEA License (if indicated), PALS, NRP Certifications as applicable. For Nurse Practitioners: Connecticut State Nurse Practitioner License, Board certification, ACLS/BLS, DEA, PALS, NRP as applicable. Additional certifications may be required based on specialty and position.
