Job summary

Rochester Regional Health in Batavia is seeking a Physician Assistant in Cardiology to provide comprehensive outpatient patient care with strong clinical judgment. Monday–Friday days, collaborating with the Cardiology team to develop and manage treatment plans for referred patients.

The ideal candidate has PA-C certification, at least 2 years of PA experience in cardiology preferred, excellent communication and documentation skills, and the ability to remain composed in a high-pressure

Responsibilities

• Take complex medical histories on patients referred for consultation by academic and community physicians; perform physical examinations; order laboratory tests, x-rays, special imaging studies and other diagnostic procedures.
• Develop tentative diagnoses of medical and surgical conditions; create treatment plans with attending physician to provide optimal patient care; order consultations and interact with other specialty teams.
• Interact with patients, families, and payor/regulatory agencies with empathy and problem-solving; provide counseling and education.
• Prescribe medications, write orders, perform procedures, and respond to emergencies in acute settings.
• Obtain complete patient histories, review records, perform examinations, and document data to develop comprehensive medical status and treatment plans.

RESPONSIBILITIESPatient Care. Interacts on a frequent, regular and daily basis with patients, family members, medical/social/public services support, regulatory agencies and/or payor agencies. Interaction and communication requires expressed empathy, understanding, problem-solving, education, information gathering, process influencing and counseling.Medication & Orders. Prescribe medication, write orders, perform procedures and respond to emergency and/or immediate condition changes of acute patients.Documentation. Obtain complete, detailed and accurate patient histories, review patient records, perform physical exams, record all pertinent data to develop comprehensive medical status, diagnosis and clinical treatment plan for all assigned patients.

EDUCATION: BS: Physician Assistant (Required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant - National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

PAY RANGE: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
