Job Summary

Location: MPC Diabetes and Endocrinology Services
Address: 7831 Chicago Court, Omaha NE

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, 40 hours per week. Inpatient and outpatient care provided.

This role involves providing primary health care for endocrinology patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions

Provide primary health care by assessing health status, diagnosing, developing treatment and follow-up plans.

  • Care for endocrinology patients.

Educate patients and families on medication use and health maintenance, and advise on community resources.

Prepare prescriptions and communicate with pharmacies.

Administer medications and immunizations.

Conduct patient consultations, physical exams, obtain medical histories, check vital signs, and perform relevant tests.

  • Order tests, interpret data, and develop diagnoses.

Develop preliminary diagnoses and order diagnostic procedures.

Provide age-appropriate care, ensuring patient understanding and comfort.

Maintain professionalism and effective communication.

Perform technical skills independently, learn new skills and equipment, and evaluate patient responses to care.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, 40 hours per week.

Job Requirements
Education
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program approved by ARC-PA.
Experience
  • Minimum two years of clinical experience.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Valid Physician Assistant license in the state of practice.
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), required within 3 months of hire.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
Physical Requirements

Medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force.

Physical Activity
  • Occasional activities include climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting.
  • Frequent activities include balancing, carrying, crouching, typing, lifting, pulling, repetitive motions, bending, twisting.
