Job summary

Heritage Valley Beaver in Beaver, PA is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Emergency Department. This casual weekend position provides primary care to ED patients under physician supervision and supports cross-campus coverage.

The role requires national or state PA certification, BLS, and timely clearance processing. Weekend premium pay applies at $81.93/hour; minimum two weekend shifts per month.

Qualifications

• Nationally certified and/or State licensed to provide care as a physician assistant.
• BLS certification.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances within 90 days of commencing employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care to Emergency Department patients under the direct medical supervision of the Emergency Department physician, and indirectly under the supervision of the Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner Coordinator; report to the Medical Director.
• Support ED team and coordinate patient care during shifts in the Emergency Department.

Department: Emergency Department, cross-campus credentialing between AHN Beaver and AHN Sewickley campuses. Work Hours: This position requires a minimum of 2 weekend shifts per month. Premium weekend rate of $81.93/hour.

The Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant is a professional with advanced education and training in the primary and emergency care of newborn to geriatric populations. The physician assistant is responsible for providing primary care to Emergency Department patients under the direct medical supervision of the Emergency Department physician, indirectly under the supervision of the Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner Coordinator, and ultimately reports to the Medical Director.

Requirements

Nationally certified and/or State licensed to provide care as a physician assistant. BLS certification.

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

At least one year of direct emergency patient care experience. ACLS & PALS certification is encouraged.
