Job summary

UPMC Altoona and UPMC Bedford Hospital are seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to support their Emergency Department. An Emergency Medicine background is preferred to help staff the two facilities with high-quality patient care.

The APP will provide independent patient care activities, collaborate with physicians and care teams, and contribute to a strong, patient-centered ED workflow across both sites.

Qualifications

• Emergency Medicine experience preferred.
• Full-time role in UPMC Altoona and UPMC Bedford.
• Shifts include 12-hour coverage biweekly, with day and night rotations.

Responsibilities

• Apply professional practice knowledge and communicate effectively with the health care team.
• Develop and implement care plans with independence and collaboration with physicians.
• Support patient safety, quality, and satisfaction through adherence to standards.
• Engage in professional development and education for staff and patients.
• Build collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and families.
