Job summary

Allegheny Health Network, part of Highmark Health, is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide specialty and chronic-care services in physician offices and non-acute settings. Focus on comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, and coordination within the care team.

You will conduct histories, physicals, order tests, interpret results, and contribute to patient education. On-call coverage, and potential telehealth or e-consults may be included.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Active PA-C license or board eligibility.
• CPR certification (AHA).
• DEA licensure within 60 days of hire and ongoing recertification (NCCPA).
• Criminal background checks and clearances as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care in physician offices and non-acute settings, including history, physical, and care planning.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests and interprets results to plan treatment.
• Stabilizes patients in emergencies and ensures timely EMR documentation for coding and billing.
• Educates patients and families on health, medications, and care plans; includes e-consults and telehealth where applicable.
• Maintains professional development and participates in quality/safety initiatives.
