Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Physician Assistant to deliver specialty and critical care services within the PA scope, primarily at West Penn with travel to outreach sites. Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies required.
• Current PA-C license or board eligible.
• Substitutions: 4–10 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent.
• Preferred 1 year of experience in specialty or procedure-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates effective diagnostic and emergency care for patients in outpatient and acute inpatient settings.
• Orders and interprets a wide range of laboratory, imaging and diagnostic studies.
• Institutes immediate emergency measures and communicates with the attending provider about significant changes.
• Prepares and electronically prescribes medications; performs minor bedside procedures and other specialty procedures.
• Coordinates complex care with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team, initiating timely consultations.
• Ensures accurate, complete medical records reflecting care provided across environments.
• Educates patients and families on health, medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintains seamless continuity of care across outpatient to inpatient and post-discharge steps.
