State of South Carolina is seeking a Physician Assistant to conduct comprehensive health histories and physical exams for critically ill patients within the corrections system. You will oversee admission procedures, interpret diagnostics, and collaborate with physicians on daily care plans, medications, and nutrition orders.

You will perform high-skill procedures, provide emergency interventions, document progress, and participate in on-call coverage.

Formación

• Graduation from ARC-PA accredited PA program.
• Master's degree with clinical health care experience.
• Basic Life Support certification or eligible within 30 days.

Responsabilidades

• Performs health histories, exams, admissions procedures for critically ill patients, and distinguishes normal from abnormal findings.
• Orders radiologic and lab studies; interprets results and informs care planning.
• Develops daily plans of care with physicians, writes orders for meds, fluids, nutrition, and respiratory care; adjusts treatment as needed.
• Performs technically demanding procedures and provides resuscitation and emergency interventions.
• Records daily progress, prepares discharge summaries, and ensures timely documentation.
• Provides on-call support for physicians during night shifts for urgent needs.
• Mentors nursing staff and students; contributes to ongoing professional development.

Educación

ARC-PA approved PA program graduation

Master's degree with clinical experience

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
