Qualifications

• Graduation from an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program.
• Master's degree with clinical experience and PA program completion.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts complete health histories and physical examinations for admissions of critically ill patients.
• Orders radiologic and laboratory studies, interprets results, and incorporates findings into patient care plans.
• Develops and updates daily plans of care with physicians and other healthcare professionals; writes orders for medications, fluids, nutrition, and respiratory management.
• Performs procedures (e.g., suprapubic bladder taps, percutaneous central venous catheter placement) and provides resuscitation and emergency interventions.
• Records daily patient progress, prepares discharge summaries, and ensures timely documentation to support continuity of care.
• Provides on-call support for physicians during night shifts for urgent patient needs.
• Serves as a role model for nursing staff and students and contributes to ongoing professional development.
