Qualifications

• Must graduate from an approved physician assistant program and obtain PANCE certification and Mississippi licensure prior to hire.
• Licensure by the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure required prior to hire.
• PANCE certification by NCCPA required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts complex, standardized patient care procedures and evaluates medical complaints.
• Obtains, compiles, and records patient medical data including health history and progress notes.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests such as x-ray, ECG, and laboratory tests.
• Prescribes therapy and medications according to treatment plan.
• Educates patients and families about disease processes, therapies, outcomes and prevention.
• Practices safety and infection control.
• Serves on hospital or medical center committees to improve patient care and area.
• Provides exceptional customer service and acts as a resource to clinic staff.
• Mentors students and new advance practice providers.
• Contributes to professional development for peers upon request.
