Qualifications

• Must hold one of the listed nationally recognized Medical Assistant credentials.
• Credentials include CMA, CCMA, NCCT CMA, RMA (AMT), RMA (AAMP), RMA (ARMA), NRCMA, RMA (AAH).

Responsibilities

• Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checks in patients, obtains histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, assists with examinations.
• Performs venipuncture, catheterization, and sterile dressing changes per protocols; collects and prepares lab specimens.
• Arranges instruments; sterilizes instruments; disposes contaminated supplies; maintains stocks of medicines and supplies.
• Educates and advises patients on medical issues per guidelines.
• Answers phones, greets patients, updates and files records, verifies demographics/insurance, schedules appointments, performs billing and bookkeeping.
• Practices safety, infection control measures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
