Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the MIND Center Clinical Research team. You will provide patient care, perform assessments, orders/tests, and develop care plans in collaboration with physicians under research protocols.

Applicants must hold a Master's in Nursing, Mississippi APRN license, and national certification, with eligibility to practice within 6 months. This is a full-time day-shift position with clinical research duties.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Nursing.
• Mississippi APRN license and national certification applicable to the area of practice.
• Eligibility to practice and obtain licensure within 6 months if not yet achieved.

Responsibilities

• completes health assessments, histories and physical exams.
• Orders, collects, and interprets relevant lab and diagnostic tests.
• Develops and implements comprehensive patient care plans based on assessments.
• Documents patient assessments and care provided.
• Mentors graduate nursing students and new advanced practice providers.
• Acts as a resource to nursing staff in area of specialty.
• Participates in committees or councils to improve patient care.
