Job summary

Altea Healthcare in Overton, Texas is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) for post-acute care on a part-time basis. The proposed schedule is 2-3 days per week, with training, mentorship, and support to help you succeed in post-acute and skilled nursing care.

As a PA-C in a skilled nursing facility you will perform exams, order tests, diagnose and manage conditions, prescribe treatments, and educate patients and families. We welcome both experienced providers and recent graduates.

Qualifications

• PA-C license or eligibility to obtain.
• DEA registration or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
• All experience levels welcome – training & mentorship available.
• Passion for geriatrics, internal medicine, or primary care.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a patient-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical exams and review medical histories.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.).
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribe medications and create treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility staff.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and preventive care.
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently.

What You’ll Do:
