Position Summary:

Insight Health Systems is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing Allergy & Immunology service line. Working under physician supervision, the PA will evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with allergic, immunologic, and related respiratory conditions across our ambulatory sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who enjoys building longitudinal patient relationships, working within a collaborative care team, and contributing to a service line that is actively expanding.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and assessments for patients with allergic and immunologic conditions, including allergic rhinitis, asthma, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, drug and food allergies, and immunodeficiency.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic testing, including skin prick and intradermal testing, pulmonary function testing, and relevant laboratory studies.
  • Develop and manage treatment plans, including allergen immunotherapy (build-up and maintenance dosing) and biologic therapy candidates, in coordination with the supervising physician.
  • Manage and respond to in-clinic allergic reactions, including recognition and treatment of anaphylaxis.
  • Educate patients and families on condition management, avoidance strategies, medication use, and emergency action plans.
  • Document clinical encounters accurately and completely in the electronic health record, supporting appropriate coding and charge capture.
  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, and support staff to ensure continuity across visits.
  • Support the department’s quality, compliance, and patient-safety standards.
  • Provide coverage across Insight ambulatory sites as clinical needs require.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current NCCPA certification (PA-C).
  • Active Michigan Physician Assistant license, or eligibility to obtain prior to start.
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work within a team-based care model.
  • Comfort with electronic health records and standard clinical documentation workflows.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior clinical experience in Allergy / Immunology, Urgent Care, or Emergency Medicine. Candidates with a background in these settings are strongly preferred, given the acuity recognition, procedural comfort, and fast-paced decision making the role benefits from.
  • Experience with allergy skin testing and immunotherapy administration.
  • Experience managing acute allergic presentations and anaphylaxis.
  • Familiarity with biologic therapies used in asthma and allergic disease.
  • What Insight Offers
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
  • Collaborative physician oversight and a supportive clinical team.
  • Opportunity to grow within an expanding, multi-site specialty service line.
  • Exposure to a diverse patient population across multiple Michigan communities.
