Job summary

OrthoVirginia, Virginia's largest musculoskeletal care provider, is hiring a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for Ortho On-Call urgent care clinics. You will join a team of physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and sports medicine physicians delivering quality orthopedic care in a patient-focused setting.

Open 361 days a year with weekend/evening shifts; outpatient, competitive salary, paid malpractice, 401(k) incentive plan, and generous benefits are included.

Qualifications

  • Board certified or eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • 2+ years orthopedic experience or urgent/emergency care background.
  • Active state medical license with eligibility for VA license; DEA license.

Responsibilities

  • Examine, diagnose and treat patients of all ages for immediate health care needs.
  • Urgent care and emergency room responsibilities; open 361 days a year.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Fracture/dislocation reductions and laceration repair.
  • Instruct patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plan and medications.
  • Consult with physicians to assess patient condition and plan.
  • Ensure medical charts and admin paperwork are completed timely.
  • Provide support to medical and office staff.

Ortho On-Call is a growing UrgentCareand we are currentlyhiringa Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. This position will join our exceptional team of physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and sports medicine physicians and will ensure our teams continue to deliver quality care in a patient-focused setting.

Ortho On-Call’s walk-in urgent care clinics are designed specifically to treat acute orthopedic-related injuries and conditions andaresupportedby the board-certified physicians and full-service therapies of OrthoVirginia. The successful candidate will be a qualified and compassionate provider withalicensureto see all age ranges.

Primary Functions & Accountabilities
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages for immediate health care needs, as well as provide employer services.
  • Urgent care, emergency room responsibilities. As we are open361 daysa year, weekend and evening shifts will berequired.
  • Ordering and interpretingappropriate diagnostictests
  • Fracture/Dislocation reductions/management, laceration repair, joint injections
  • Instructs patients and familiesregardingdiagnosis, treatmentplanand medications
  • Consults with physicians whenwarrantedto assess patient condition and treatment plan
  • Ensures that medical charts and administrative paperwork are completedin a timely manner
  • Performs within guidelines of specific privileges approved by the governing body and delegated by the Medical Director
  • Provides support to medical and office staff
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to assess situations, resolve within scope of ability, or escalat as appropriate
  • Ability to respond effectively to emergencies, actual events, or drills
  • Ability to follow instructions and make decisions with little supervision
  • Ability to maintainprofessional demeanor in all aspects of role
  • Travels between facilities when indicated
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent communicationskills
Candidate must have experience in:
  • Sports injuries Sprains & strains Slips, trips, falls
  • Hand & wrist injuries Foot & ankle injuries Knee/shoulder injuries
  • Cuts & lacerations
  • Back & neck injuries
  • Broken bones
  • Sports physicals (NOVA & RIC)
  • Work-related injuries
Position Requirements
  • Board Certified/Eligible
  • Prefer 2+ years of orthopedic experience or practice in Emergency/Urgent Care clinical/hospital setting
  • Active/current state medical license and eligible for a VA Medical License
  • DEA License
  • Physical health to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position

Compensation Range for this position:

$111,200.00 - $166,800.00

Compensation for this role will be based on several factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, geography/market, and internal equity considerations.
