Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Hospitalist in Marshfield, WI. The Adult Hospitalist provides comprehensive inpatient care for adult patients, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care during hospitalization.

Board-certified or eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; licensed to practice in applicable states; DEA and privileging requirements apply. This full-time position offers a solid benefits package and relocation support.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine completed.
• Current medical license in each state of practice.
• DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances.
• Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (or equivalent).
• Privileging and credentialing requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for adult patients.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and ensure quality outcomes.
• Engage in education and research to advance patient care.

Hospitalist Program

The Hospitalist Program provides a core and essential service to the clinic and hospital in Marshfield, WI.

The scope of patients on the Hospitalist Service is broad ranging and includes medical consultation for surgical and non-surgical subspecialty patients excluding critical ICU admissions.

• Shifts include 7pm-7am - 7 days on 7 days off
• Trauma Level II – 500 bed hospital (beds in service 300)
• Closed ICU

Job Description

The Adult Hospitalist Physician provides comprehensive, inpatient care for adult patients in a hospital setting. This role focuses on the management of acute and chronic medical conditions, coordination of care with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered outcomes throughout hospitalization.

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Successful completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Current medical license in each state of practice.
• State Controlled Substance License (if required by State)
• Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine; or Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine; or equivalent (American Osteopathic Board, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada).
• Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.
