Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is seeking Physician Advisors for full‑time employment. The Physician Advisor will form a collaborative partnership with local and corporate administration, the medical staff, and the case management department leadership.

This partnership will provide a comprehensive clinical resource management program that includes utilization management, progression of care management, social work services, and complex discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Board Certified/Board Eligible and NJ license required.
• 2+ years of clinical practice experience.
• Utilization management and care management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CMS regulations and guidelines such as MCG and InterQual.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and maintaining standardized Physician Advisor services.
• Monitor throughput and length of stay metrics.
• Coordinate next site of care planning and observation hours.
• Lead multidisciplinary rounds.
• Participate in medical guidelines and policy development for quality and efficiency of care.
