Job summary

Med Source Consultants has an opportunity to cover inpatient gastroenterology as a Gastro Hospitalist in Spokane, WA. Weekday schedule from 8:00 to 17:00 with no nights or weekends, and a minimum of 14 shifts per month with 8 guaranteed hours per day.

Fellowship in GI is required, board certification, active WA license or IMLC, DEA, ACLS and BLS certifications are all required with an expected ~90-day credentialing period. Procedures include ERCP, endoscopy, and colonoscopy with biopsy.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage in a Gastro Hospitalist-type role (in Spokane, WA).

• Perform upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, ERCP, esophageal dilatation/manometry and related procedures.
• Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision; small bowel biopsy.
• Credentialing timeframe ~90 days; Malpractice coverage included.

Job Details

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage in a Gastro Hospitalist-type role
• Weekday coverage only, 8a-5p, no nights or weekends required
• Minimum of 14 shifts per month with 8 guaranteed hours per day
• Approximately 5 patient encounters per shift
• GI Fellowship completion is required
• Board certification required
• Active Washington state license or IMLC required
• DEA registration required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 90 days
• Perform upper GI endoscopy including with biopsy, foreign body removal and fulguration of bleeder
• Perform diagnostic ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography)
• Esophageal dilatation/manometry and esophageal manometry interpretation
• Small bowel biopsy
• Lower GI endoscopy including sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
• Colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyp
• Ongoing need starting ASAP; potential opportunity to transition to a permanent position for the right candidate
