Job description

Color Health is revolutionizing cancer care with the nation’s first Virtual Cancer Clinic, delivering high-quality, physician-led multidisciplinary care across all 50 states. Our innovative, guideline-based approach spans cancer screening, risk assessment, prevention, diagnosis, treatment support, and survivorship. In addition to personalized direct medical care, our services include cancer genetics risk assessment, nutrition, mental health support and at-home cancer screening diagnostics. Using technology-driven, patient-centric solutions, Color is transforming how employers, unions, health plans, and governments address cancer. Color’s goal is to close critical cancer care gaps, improve cancer outcomes, and guide patients with empathy through their healthcare journeys.

Apply to join Color and do the most meaningful work of your career. If you are not sure that you’re 100% qualified but are up for the challenge - we want you to apply!

In June 2023, Color and the American Cancer Society (ACS) introduced a cancer screening and prevention program for employers and labor organizations, combining the ACS’s expertise in cancer screening, prevention, and risk reduction with Color’s leadership in population-scale healthcare delivery. Since announcing our partnership with the American Cancer Society, our program has expanded to support diagnosis management, cancer treatment and care, and survivorship. Through our Virtual Cancer Clinic, Color is helping employees and members screen and diagnose cancer at an earlier, more treatable stage; caring for patients going through their diagnostic journeys with empathy and speed; helping cancer survivors navigate return-to-work challenges and complex clinical needs; and closing critical cancer screening gaps for high-burden cancers.

Color’s physician-led, multidisciplinary team practices evidence-based medicine to help patients through every phase of their cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship journeys. Apply to join Color’s clinical group and do the most meaningful work of your career. You will deliver cancer-aware primary care to help employees and members diagnose cancer at an earlier, more treatable stage, close critical screening gaps for high-burden cancers, and support the long term cancer screening needs of cancer survivors.

This is a part-time, contract role. Applications are reviewed on an as-needed basis.

How You'll Contribute:
  • Evaluate patient cancer risk and recommend screening plans according to evidence-based guidelines.
  • Provide education to patients on their cancer screening needs and on cancer prevention.
  • Develop and implement a care plan to help patients get screened for cancers based on evidence-based guidelines.
  • Tailor screening plans to patient’s personal and family history and cancer risk, including developing long term screening plans for cancer survivors and patients with genetic mutations that increase their risk of cancer.
  • Deliver clinical care primarily over video, phone and messaging.
  • Manage patient follow-up care over time through synchronous and asynchronous interactions.
  • Prescribe medications, order lab testing and imaging as appropriate.
  • Follow best practices and company-specific guidelines for cancer prevention, screening and diagnosis.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Board-certified MD or DO in Family or Internal Medicine.
  • Valid state medical license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of independent clinical practice experience post residency/fellowship training in an outpatient primary care setting. Experience practicing in cancer high risk clinics or survivorship preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-year telemedicine experience.
  • A passion for helping people navigate the complexities of the healthcare system to screen and detect cancer early to maximize their health outcome.
  • A friendly, empathetic, compassionate manner.
  • Strong clinical skills, and high bar for experience and quality of care.
  • Team-focused, effective collaborator within the care team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with a focus on empathy and active listening.
  • High ethical standards of behavior.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Comfort with technology, including video chatting, electronic health records, and other telehealth tools.

Hourly Range: $120/hour

The actual hourly pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: work experience, market data, skills, geographic location, and business need. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is not eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
