Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in New Jersey is seeking a dedicated Family Practice Physician to join the Cooper Care Alliance. You will provide comprehensive, patient-centered primary care to individuals and families in an outpatient setting, focusing on prevention, wellness, and chronic disease management.

Candidates must hold an MD or DO, be Board Certified or eligible in Family Medicine, hold an active NJ license, and be proficient with EHR systems (Epic).

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine.
  • Active and unrestricted NJ medical license; DEA license and current BLS/ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based primary care to a diverse patient population.
  • Conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and manage treatment plans, including prescribing medications and coordinating referrals.
  • Promote preventive care and health education to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health, and specialists.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Short Description

Education Requirements

Experience in an ambulatory or outpatient care setting preferred.

License/ Certification Requirements
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of NJ.
  • DEA licenseand current BLS/ACLS certification.
Special Requirements
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing culturally competent and equitable care.
  • Experience with electronic health records (e.g., Epic).
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Interest in population health, quality improvement, or teaching.
