MedLink Georgia seeks a compassionate physician to provide direct patient care, diagnose and manage diseases, and participate in PCMH efforts to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of examination, diagnosis and treatment of physically ill patients.
  • Extensive knowledge of recent developments in medicine.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks required in examination and treatment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with patients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated interest in preventive medicine and health education.

Responsibilities

  • Elicits and records information about patient's medical history utilizing the established electronic medical record software system.
  • Orders, oversees and interprets various tests, analyses and diagnostic images.
  • Makes diagnosis and prescribes care, treatment, and medications for patient condition.
  • Performs specific minor outpatient surgeries and procedures.
  • Documents patient charts in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Adheres to all established quality protocols.
  • Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioner for specialized treatment.
  • Advices patients concerning diet, hygiene, lifestyle modification and methods for prevention of disease.
  • Hospitalizes and treats patients in local hospitals, if required.
  • Supervises clinical components at site.
  • Assists with medical in-service training for staff.
  • Provides back-up coverage for other MedLink sites.
  • Serves on appropriate organization committees and teams.
  • Participates in community health promotion projects.
  • Pursues activities of community involvement to increase awareness and positive image of MedLink Georgia.
  • Attends local medical conferences and meetings.
  • Participates in the Quality Assurance Program and adheres to quality protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary

Provides direct patient care including the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases and injuries. As a recognized patient-centered medical home (PCMH), every employee is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of quality, comprehensive patient-centered care as a member of the patients care team. By performing the job expectations described below you will be an active member of the care team, thereby patients are assured access to team-based, coordinated, comprehensive, quality care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to, the following)

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides consultation, collaboration/supervision and direction to supportive clinical personnel.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

Physicians: Graduation from an approved school of medicine and internship AND completion of an approved residency program and eligible for board certification.

Physician Assistant: Graduate of approved Physician Assistant program AND completion of preceptorship in primary care

Nurse Practitioner: Graduate of approved Nurse Practitioner program AND completion of preceptorship in primary care
