Job summary

CommuniCare is seeking a Physical Therapist Technician (PTT) to support Physical Therapists and Physicians in treating patients recovering from injuries. The role includes assisting with therapy plans, teaching exercises, documenting visits, and coordinating referrals within the Center’s network.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of PTT experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to move patients and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year experience as a physical therapist technician.
• Ability to match patient needs to treatment plans.
• Good communication with staff, patients and community.
• Must be able to physically move patients and equipment.
• Sensitivity to cultural diversity; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists, PTAs and Physicians with patient evaluation and treatment plans.
• Instruct patients on therapeutic exercises, equipment use and home exercises.
• Document patient visits accurately in electronic health records within 24 hours.
• Assist with referrals to in-house services and community agencies.
• Provide excellent customer service via phone, fax or in person.
• Maintain relationships with community-based agencies to support patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
