Job summary

Powerback Pediatrics in the Greater Chicago area is seeking a School-Based Physical Therapist to support students aged 3-21 within the school setting.

The role focuses on implementing therapy plans, collaborating with classroom staff and other professionals, and documenting progress to align with IEP goals. The program includes mentorship for new grads, CEU opportunities, and travel across the U.S. with a full-time position.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice.
• Must have a qualifying degree in Physical Therapy.
• Experience with IEPs and school-based therapy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes for students within IEPs.
• Consults with Teachers, SLP, OT, PCP and other professionals to ensure a cohesive therapy team.
• Assesses and documents each student’s progress through formal and informal tests and measurements.
• Writes and prepares annual review reports and goals aligned with IEP dates and requirements.
• Attends school-related meetings such as IEPs, Annual Reviews, Domains, Referrals, and pre-IEP meetings.
• Provides screenings and evaluations to determine requirements for skilled physical therapy intervention in the school environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Our School Based Physical Therapists serve students with various physical and developmental challenges, ranging in age from 3-21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes to be shared with the school and/or supervisors, as mandated in the student’s Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).


• Consults with other professionals (Teachers, SLP, OT, PCP, etc.) on the student\'s treatment team to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive therapy team.


• Assesses and documents each student’s progress through formal and informal tests and measurements.


• Writes and prepares annual review reports and goals for each student in accordance with their IEP dates and requirements, in order to remain in compliance with state guidelines.


• Attends all school related meetings as scheduled, such as, but not limited to, Triennials, Annual Reviews, Domains, Referrals, IEP, and pre-IEP meetings for each individual student.


• Provides screenings and evaluations to determine requirements for skilled physical therapy intervention relative to the student/client’s level of function within the school environment. This includes, but is not limited to the following areas: school function, range of motion, strength, positioning, contracture management, and conducting home assessments.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid and unencumbered Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility.


• Must have a qualifying degree in Physical Therapy.

Posted Salary Range

USD $44.00 - USD $47.00 /Hr.
