Job summary

Powerback Pediatrics is seeking a School-Based Physical Therapist to support students aged 3-21 within the Greater Chicago area. You will implement treatment plans, collaborate with teachers and other therapists, and document progress in line with IEP requirements.

Ideal candidates hold a Physical Therapy license, a qualifying degree, and CPR certification. This role offers full-time benefits, mentorship for new grads, and opportunities to travel across the U.S. with a stable full-time position.

Qualifications

  • PT license in state(s) of practice or proof of license and eligibility.
  • Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Clinical experience with pediatric population preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems.
  • Maintains professional attitudes and respect for the school and staff.
  • Treats all students with dignity, compassion, empathy and respect.
  • Experience handling high volume workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Implements treatment plans that focus on functional and measurable outcomes to be shared with the school and/or supervisors, as mandated in the student’s IEPs.
  • Consults with other professionals (Teachers, SLP, OT, PCP, etc.) on the student’s treatment team to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive therapy team.
  • Assesses and documents each student’s progress through formal and informal tests and measurements.
  • Writes and prepares annual review reports and goals for each student in accordance with their IEP dates and requirements, in order to remain in compliance with state guidelines.
  • Attends all school related meetings as scheduled, such as, but not limited to, Triennials, Annual Reviews, Domains, Referrals, IEP, and pre-IEP meetings for each individual student.
  • Provides screenings and evaluations to determine requirements for skilled physical therapy intervention relative to the student/client’s level of function within the school environment. This includes, but is not limited to, the following areas: school function, range of motion, strength, positioning, contracture management, and conducting home assessments.

Responsibilities

Our School Based Physical Therapists serve students with various physical and developmental challenges, ranging in age from 3-21 years old.

Qualifications
  • They must have a valid and unencumbered Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility.
  • They must have a qualifying degree in Physical Therapy.
  • They must have a current CPR Certification.
  • Valid CPR certification required.
  • Clinical experience with the pediatric population preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective leadership and customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative in analyzing and solving problems.
  • Maintains professional attitudes and respect for the school and their staff.
  • Treats all students with dignity, compassion, empathy and respect.
  • Proven track record with high volume workloads.
Posted Salary Range

USD $52.00 - USD $60.00 /Hr.
