Job summary

Mercy in Illinois is seeking a part-time Physical Therapy Assistant to support therapists in delivering modalities, exercises, and therapeutic procedures. The role includes assisting with medical records, maintaining department appearance, and providing backup support to the physical therapy team.

Requires PTA program graduate and PTA license in the practice state, with BLS within 90 days. Flexible weekend shifts (Fri/Sat/Sun) and 24 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Graduate of PTA program.
• PTA license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in therapy preferred.
• Background in Allied Health.

Responsibilities

• Administer therapeutic modalities, exercises and procedures.
• Assist in medical records and department upkeep.

• Provide back-up help for therapists and assistants as needed.

Under the general supervision of department management and the direct supervision of staff Physical and Occupational Therapists and Assistants, will administer a variety of therapeutic modalities, exercises and procedures. Will also assist in: medical records, upkeep of department appearance and equipment, and provide any support help needed for improved Department functioning.

Position Details:

Position: Part-time - 24 hours per week

Shifts: Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Flexible hours: Friday 4 hours and Saturday/Sunday 10-hour shifts or three (3) - 8-hour shifts.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of PTA Program.

Licensure: PTA License in the state of practice.

Experience: Experience with therapy preferred.

Certifications: BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.

Other: Must have knowledge or background in Allied Health field.
