Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services in Oakland, CA is seeking a qualified Physical Therapy Assistant to deliver patient-centered care under supervision of a Physical Therapist.

You will perform treatments, document accurately, assist with scheduling, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support rehabilitation goals. Candidates should have AS degree, state PTA license, and experience in geriatric or neurological rehab are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Physical Therapy treatment techniques.
• Understanding the principles of physical modalities used in PT.
• Knowledge of prosthetic devices, ambulatory aids, and related training.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all types and levels of patients.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the direction of a physical therapist.
• Completes documentation according to procedures and billing data.
• Instructs patients and families on treatment plans and follow-through.
• Communicates patient progress with the supervisor and health team.
• Assists with scheduling and administrative tasks for patient services.
• Participates in interdisciplinary patient care conferences and education.
