Job summary

Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, Texas, seeks a civilian Physical Therapy Assistant under the U.S. Army Medicine Civilian Corps to coordinate and administer diverse physical therapy programs for wounded and ill patients.

You will interpret findings, design progressive treatment plans to improve range of motion, strength, endurance, and functional independence, and provide updates in progress and administrative reports while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Specialized Experience: implementing physical therapy treatment plans; instructing on physical therapy programs; and/or providing status reports.
• Education: One year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work, such as Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Kinesiotherapy, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science.
• OR Combination of Education and Experience may qualify for the position (percentage method).
• Resume must describe relevant experience; transcripts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Physical Therapist, plans, coordinates, and administers diverse physical therapy programs for wounded, ill and injured patients and beneficiaries.
• Interprets the Physical Therapist’s findings to initiate care considering neurological, surgical, sensory, respiratory, cardiac status, gait, posture, age and general health.
• Designs patient progressive treatment plans to restore and maintain ROM, strength, endurance, coordination, relaxation and functional independence.
• Provides progress updates in patient progress reports and other administrative reports.
