Job summary

CentralCare Incorporated is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join our team at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. This full-time civilian contractor role supports military families with comprehensive orthopedic care.

We welcome applicants with a Master’s in PA Studies, active NCCPA, and a Texas or any-state PA license. Expect 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with no overtime. Competitive W2 benefits and malpractice coverage are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months orthopedic experience in the last 36 months.
• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent.
• Current, full, unrestricted PA license; any state accepted; NCCPA certified; BLS active.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial orthopedic consults and order/interpret radiographs.
• Brace or splint extremity injuries and place personnel on profile as needed.
• Perform anesthesia techniques and manage nonsurgical conditions.
• Provide primary and specialty care within PA scope and immunizations.
• Diagnose, treat, and counsel patients; document care per standards.

CentralCare Inc is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant to provide full-time services at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. This is a great opportunity for an Orthopedic Physician Assistant to support our military and their families as a civilian contractor (no military service required).

ANY STATE PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT LICENSE ACCEPTED – Does not have to be Texas

Orthopedic Physician Assistant Details:

Experience: Minimum 12 months orthopedic experience in the last 36 months

Exposure to orthopedic trauma, pediatrics, hand, foot and ankle, sports, and/or spine.

• Pay: $72/hour (includes $4.57/h Health and Wellness benefit)
• Benefit: W2 – Full Benefits Available
• Availability:Full Time – 40 Hours per week (NO OVERTIME)
• Shift:M-F - 10 and 8 hour day shifts (NO WEEKENDS)
• Contract Length:1 year (opportunity to extend)
• Malpractice Insurance:Cover under the Federal Tort Claims Act

Orthopedic Physician Assistant Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial orthopedic consults and order/interpret radiographic exams; consult with Orthopedic staff as needed.
• Brace or splint extremity injuries and place personnel on profile/quarters per policy.
• Perform topical and local infiltration anesthesia; manage nonsurgical orthopedic conditions; perform joint injections/aspirations when clinically indicated.
• Provide primary and specialty care within the PA’s scope of practice, including routine, acute, and chronic conditions; administer immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients.
• Recognize emergency conditions, provide stabilization, and refer complex cases to higher-level medical personnel.
• Teach and supervise staff, provide educational lectures, and participate in in-service training.
• Promote preventive care, health maintenance, and patient education.
• Prescribe medications according to approved treatment protocols and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee guidelines.
• Maintain accurate medical records and document patient care according to MTF and Joint Commission standards.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare personnel to facilitate patient care.
• Participate in staff meetings, case discussions, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Orthopedic Physician Assistant Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (or equivalent).
• Current, full, unrestricted PA license; any state is accepted
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); Active BLS
