Job summary

Defense Health Agency, at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Physical Therapist to plan, coordinate, and administer therapy programs for wounded and ill patients. You will interpret findings, design progressive treatment plans, and track progress while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include providing home program instruction, reporting patient status, and contributing to administrative records.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience implementing physical therapy treatment plans and providing status reports.
• One year of graduate level education in a field directly related to physical therapy (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Kinesiotherapy, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science).
• Combination of Education and Experience may be used to qualify as long as the computed percentage is at least 100%.
• Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalence to U.S. education or full credit given.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and administer diverse PT programs for wounded, ill and injured patients and other beneficiaries.
• Interpret findings to initiate care considering neurological, surgical, sensory, respiratory, cardiac status, gait, posture, age and health.
• Design patient progressive treatment plans to restore/maintain ROM, strength, endurance, coordination, and functional independence.
• Provide updated status in progress reports and administrative reports.
• Instruct patients and families on home program precautions and use of modalities at home environment.
• Track effects of therapy and report progress or issues to supervisor.
• Share expertise with therapy assistants and interdisciplinary team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
