Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a weekend Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for our Rochester Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Rochester, NY. The PTA provides rehab services in a state‑of‑the‑art gym and collaborates with the supervising PT to execute the plan of care.

New York PTA licensure and graduation from an accredited PTA program are required. We offer mentorship, flexible schedules, and weekly pay as part of a supportive rehab team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the PT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members and contribute to team effort.
