Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a weekend Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to provide rehabilitative services in a Skilled Nursing Facility located in Cooperstown, New York. The PTA will work closely with a supervising PT to implement the plan of care and support residents in daily activities.

We offer mentorship and clinical support, flexibility with weekend/evening hours, and a path for growth within a state-of-the-art rehab program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist.
• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Collaborate with the PT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contribute to team effort.

Education
