Job summary

Kindred Hospital Westminster in Westminster, California seeks a Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital team. The wage scale is $28.00 - $50.00 per hour.

You will support therapy plans under a PT, help patients participate in activities to restore function, and document progress accurately. Qualifications include an associate degree as PTA, current state license, CPR as required, and prior hospital/SNF experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program culminating in an associate degree.
• Current state licensure as Physical Therapy Assistant in states where services are rendered.
• CPR certification where required.
• Prior hospital or SNF experience.
• Available to participate in required training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Assist under supervision of a Physical Therapist to implement Care Plans for rehabilitation.
• Contribute to patient activities to restore and enhance function.
• Communicate patient progress to supervisor and staff; assist with scheduling and documentation.
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory and accrediting requirements.
• Instruct family or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
• Maintain equipment and a clean, safe work area.
• Adhere to corporate and professional standards and applicable laws.

How you'll contribute

• Work in a team where you will provide quality, compassionate care in a secure setting
• Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, you will implement the patient's Care Plan for rehabilitation. Help mentally and/or physically impaired patients to participate in tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance their performance
• Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; assist with patient scheduling and post charges daily to patient records
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements
• Instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs
• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition
• Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, appropriate professional standard and applicable state/federal laws
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant / PTA program culminating in an associate degree.
• Current state licensure as Physical Therapy Assistant / PTA or equivalent in the states where services are rendered.
• CPR certification (when required)
• Candidates should have prior experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting.
• Must be available to participate in required training sessions
