Location: Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Full Time Equivalent (FTE): 0. The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) – PRN role involves performing physical therapy treatment and exercise instruction under the direction of a Physical Therapist.

Essential Responsibilities
- Act in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the organization.
- Abide by HIPAA privacy and security regulations regarding protected health information.
- Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients, representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies and the public.
- Perform acts within the scope of practice defined by the certification board.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills required to provide care as described in unit‑based competencies, policies and procedures.
- Accurately evaluate patient needs and implement, review and maintain a comprehensive care plan.
- Evaluate and provide care to achieve desired patient outcomes for patients ranging from newborn to geriatric.
- Educate patients on the physical aspects of care.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation per system policy.
General Responsibilities

No supervisory or management responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Education commensurate with license requirements at the date of issue.
- Current licensure in Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) through the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.
- Current BLS/CPR card from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation.
- Kansas driver’s license (if the position requires driving).
- Auto insurance equal to or greater than the Kansas insurance requirements (if the position requires driving).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of Occupational Therapy principles.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements
- Medium work: occasionally able to lift up to 50 lb and constantly up to 10 lb.
- 26–50% of the day may involve standing or walking.
