Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab is seeking a per diem Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to work in the Far Rockaway Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Far Rockaway, NY. The PTA will operate under supervision and contribute to a multidisciplinary rehab team in a state-of-the-art facility.

Responsibilities include selecting activities per care plans, assisting residents, monitoring progress, and collaborating with OT to tailor rehabilitation plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.

• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.
• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.

• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort
