Sigma Health Rehab in Far Rockaway, NY is actively seeking a per diem Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility.

You will collaborate with OTs, support residents in daily activities, and help maintain a state-of-the-art rehab gym. New grads welcome; NY PTA license required; flexible evenings/weekends; competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA Program.
• Current New York State PTA License.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities following the plan of care.
• Assist residents in daily activities.
• Monitor progress and document as needed.

• Maintain cooperative relationship among healthcare team.

Duties of an exceptional therapist include:

• Select therapy activities that follow the plan of care set out by the supervising occupational therapist

• Assist residents in carrying out daily activities.

• Monitor residents' performance in therapy activities, provide encouragement and document on residents as needed.

• Teach residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.

• collaborate with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.

• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team members & contributes to team effort

COTA Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited PTA Program

• Current New York State PTA License
