Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Licensed PTA in Illinois.
• BLS certification within 30 days.
• Board eligible or required to pass the next board exam.
• Completion of continuing education related to acute stroke patient care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, and healthcare team members using effective teaching methods.
• Follows and adjusts the plan of care based on patient response and evidence, with proper documentation.
• Performs treatment interventions such as therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.
• Coordinates with the physical therapist and communicates patient progress to referring providers.
• Completes daily documentation and manages therapy EMR charges.
• Completes annual education requirements for compliance as applicable.
