Job summary

The Black Women's Mental Health Institute in Danville, IL is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support patient rehabilitation across orthopedic, neurological, developmental and functional needs.

You will implement treatment plans, document care in the EMR, educate patients and families, and collaborate with physical therapists to monitor progress and adjust therapies as needed to maximize recovery.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in Illinois.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with orthopedic, neurological, developmental, vestibular and functional needs.
• Implement treatment plans provided by physical therapists and adjust therapies as needed.
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical records (EMR).
• Educate patients, families, and other healthcare providers on care plans.
• Deliver interventions such as therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.
• Coordinate with physical therapists and communicate progress to referring providers.

Job description

Key responsibilities include
