Sigma Health Rehab, a Skilled Nursing Facility in New York, is hiring a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA). The PTA will work under a supervising physical therapist to implement the plan of care and support residents in rehab exercises within a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program is required.
• Current New York State PTA license is required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document on resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage, and assist with exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with legal requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team.

PTA Requirements Include:

• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License

• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist

• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.

• Observe and document on resident performance.

• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.

• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.

• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.

• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team
