Job summary

Bishop Care Center is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join its rehabilitation team in a skilled nursing facility setting, under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA delivers direct resident care and assists in implementing treatment plans to improve mobility and quality of life.

This role requires licensure as PTA in California per the posting, graduation from an accredited PTA program, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license required.
• Graduate of accredited PTA program.
• Previous experience in skilled nursing facility (SNF) preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment to residents as directed by Physical Therapist.
• Assist in implementing individualized therapy care plans.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation per regulatory and facility requirements.
• Maintain safe treatment environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team, including therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and families regarding patient progress.
• Participate in care plan meetings and rehabilitation conferences as needed.
• Educate residents and families on therapy goals, exercises, safety, and discharge planning.
• Assist with training restorative aides and supporting facility therapy programs.

Position Summary
