Job summary

Sigma Health Rehab in Canandaigua, NY is seeking a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join a Skilled Nursing Facility team. The PTA will follow the supervising therapist's plan of care and support residents with therapeutic exercises and mobility tasks.

Applicants should be a graduate of an accredited PTA program and hold a NY PTA license; SNF experience is preferred but new grads with fieldwork are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current New York State PTA license.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric care preferred; new graduates with fieldwork encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist.
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document resident performance.
• Treat residents with techniques like stretching and massage; assist exercises.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and trust.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintain a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team.

Sigma Health Rehab is excited to offer a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) position to join our team of skilled therapists in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

PTA Requirements Include:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program
• Current New York State Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric care setting is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the plan of care set out by the supervising physical therapist
• Measure & record resident’s motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Observe and document on resident performance.
• Treat residents with varieties of techniques, like stretching and massage, assist residents in carrying out specific exercises.
• Maintains Resident confidence by keeping information confidential.
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
• Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare team
