Job summary

Edgewood Center for Rehab is seeking a motivated and compassionate Part Time and Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehab team at our 5-star skilled nursing facility in historic Portsmouth, NH. The role focuses on helping residents improve mobility, independence, and quality of life within a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the PTA provides direct therapy services, completes documentation, and supports discharge planning

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current NH PTA license in good standing.
• Long-term care and/or geriatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy treatments under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation.
• Monitor resident responses and communicate progress to the supervising PT.
• Assist with transfers, mobility training, positioning, exercises, and therapeutic activities.
• Maintain clean, organized treatment areas and equipment.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy techniques and safety.
• Assist with discharge planning and equipment recommendations.
• Support a positive, safe, and collaborative rehab environment.
