Job summary

Edgewood Center for Rehab in Portsmouth, NH is seeking a Part Time and Per Diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our 5-star skilled nursing facility. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the PTA provides direct services focused on improving residents’ functional performance and daily living skills, with opportunities to contribute to discharge planning and education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current NH PTA license in good standing.
• Long-term care and/or geriatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy treatments under the direction of a Physical Therapist
• Complete accurate and timely documentation
• Monitor resident responses and communicate progress to the supervising PT
• Assist with transfers, mobility training, positioning, exercises, and therapeutic activities
• Maintain clean, organized treatment areas and equipment
• Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy techniques and safety
• Assist with discharge planning and equipment recommendations
• Support a positive, safe, and collaborative rehab environment
