Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a full-time day shift. Join a team focused on compassionate patient care and improving mobility across communities served.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates. Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and assist with discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required.
• Graduate of a program in the discipline is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, provide physical therapy services to patients to develop, recover and maintain mobility.
• Implement treatment plans developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
• Seek consultation as necessary.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust as needed.
• Regularly communicate patient progress and potential goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Document services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educate patients and family/caregivers about deficits and progress.
• Assist with discharge planning and provide information on adaptive equipment and community resources.

How you'll contribute

• Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.
• Implement treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
• Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
• Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
