Job summary

Nurses and More is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week contract to cover a summer shortage in Philadelphia, PA. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST, with a pay rate of $37 per hour.

The PTA will read medical records, implement planned interventions such as gait training and modalities, document progress, and communicate with the physical therapist and care teams.

Qualifications

• PTA experience in the last 3 years.
• PA license as PTA.
• CPR certification not expiring within 90 days; no online courses.
• Pediatric experience.
• Inpatient experience preferred.
• Associate degree in PTA required.

Responsibilities

Must have Interpersonal relationships skills that permit effective communication with parents, children of various ages, peers and supervisors

• Reads and reviews the medical record to understand the patient’s diagnosis, precautions, goals and treatment plans. Asks questions regarding unclear information.
• Provides direct interventions in individual or group sessions as planned, especially gait training, exercise and modalities.
  Evaluates the patient’s response to intervention and documents patient progress in the chart.
• Informs the physical therapist of progress/problems with specific patients.
• Performs care coordination tasks associated with patient care, including communication with hospital and community providers, tracking of medical equipment, etc.

Job Requirements:

• PTA Experience-One year of PTA experience within the last 3 years
• Pennsylvania State License as PTA Experience
• CPR Certification (no online courses) not expiring within 90 days
• Pediatric Experience
• Inpatient Experience Preferred
• Associate Degree from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
