Job summary

Vertis Therapy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team at our assisted living facility on the northwest side of Indianapolis. This position offers approximately 6–8 hours per week, with the opportunity to provide meaningful care to our residents.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited institution.
• Valid PTA state license or license eligibility.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to lift and assist clients; stand for extended periods.
• Proficient with documenting in an electronic medical record system.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to help residents improve safety, functional mobility, strength and independence.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation.
• Communicate with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team regarding resident progress and changes in functional status.
• Participate or lead team development meetings.
• Regularly lead community-wide wellness programs and events.

Responsibilities

• Treatment: Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist to help residents improve safety, functional mobility, strength, and independence.
• Documentation: Complete timely and accurate documentation.
• Collaboration: Communicate with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team regarding resident progress, response to treatment, and any changes in functional status or needs.
• Professional Development: Participate or lead team development meetings.
• Wellness Programming: Regularly lead community wide wellness programs and events.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Valid Physical Therapist Assistant state license or license eligibility.
• Skills: Proficient in implementing effective treatment plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and assist clients as needed. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to therapy.
• Technology: Computer proficiency to document in electronic medical record platform.
