Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to conduct treatment programs under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and the health care team to support recovery and mobility.

The role requires an associate degree, licensure eligibility, CPR certification, and background clearances. You will complete documentation and participate in initiatives to promote quality care and staff development.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree from a two-year college or technical school.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree.
• State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant or PT Assistant Indirect Supervision License or eligible and must obtain within three months of hire.
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy interventions based upon the plan of care written by a physical therapist utilizing standard, and possibly specialized, physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Completes documentation to comply with department, hospital, and regulatory standards.
• Participates in departmental initiatives for operational improvement including mentoring new staff and participating in committees and educational offerings.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
