Job summary

Northwoods Rehab is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will assist in evaluations, develop short- and long-term treatment plans, and implement therapies to improve mobility and function.

Responsibilities include administering treatments, monitoring responses, coordinating schedules, and documenting care according to department standards.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or license eligible
• Continued professional development and CE participation

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services to residents under the direct supervision of the physical therapist.
• Identifies indications for evaluations and assists in evaluations.
• Assists in establishing target lists, goals, and treatment plans with the PT.
• Conducts individual treatments including strength, mobility, gait, ROM, and modalities.
• Monitors patient response and communicates with the PT for modifications.
• Maintains patient schedules and adheres to safety and infection control standards.
• Assists with documentation and coordination of the rehabilitation program.
• Trains patients and families in use of adaptive devices and equipment.
• Keeps positive relationships with staff, patients, and family members
