The role involves administering therapeutic exercises, assisting in ambulation-related activities, and coordinating with therapists and physicians to track patient progress. Licensure and CPR/BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree from an approved PTA program.
• Current Texas State Licensure (PTA).
• Graduates eligible for licensure will be considered.
• CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic exercises and modalities per the plan of care.
• Instructs, motivates, and assists patients to learn functional activities.
• Observes patients, assesses progress, and reports updates to the physical therapist/physician as needed.
• Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains in orthopedic braces and mobility devices.
• May perform clerical duties.
• Supports positive customer service and works with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient and customer needs.
• Completes documentation per department policy (charts, charge entries, peer reviews, schedules).
• Uses information systems for department/hospital goals and accesses patient care information.
